words/with/meg

Hey there! I’m Megan, a freelance copywriter based in Surbiton, Greater London.

A big kid at heart (but a professional one nonetheless), I enjoy using imagination and playfulness to create messages that will help you communicate.

Whether it’s creating a brand strap-line, writing direct response copy, or editing something that needs a little extra attention to detail, for me, #ConnectionIsKey, and I’d love to help bring a bit of personality and je ne sais quoi* to help get you communicating on the same level as your audience.

You can take a look at some of my work below, read a bit more about me, or if you just fancy a chat about anything in particular, then get in touch – I’d love to hear from you!

*Full disclaimer: the French language is not my forte!

A little bit about me…

From an early age (3 to be precise), I could be found reciting nursery rhymes and bashing piano keys, all in the name of creativity. Thankfully for those who were subjected to my “artistic” displays, I undertook classical training as a musician and actress, where my love of creativity could flourish, before graduating with an English and Drama degree.

A career in the performance arts (which, as you might expect, was volatile and paid a pittance), was subsidised by a career in education, working as a part-time school teacher as well as a medical secretary for a private GP.

Enter: a worldwide pandemic, a pause on my creative pursuits, and a stint in the police force as a Detective. (Yes, I know, it sounds like a bizarre move! But being a Detective actually requires an excellent command of language and communication, plus the ability to speak to anyone and everyone. Plus I now have some great stories to share in those awful “mixer” events, you know the ones where you get asked to “Tell us one interesting fact about yourself”…)

Fast forward to now, and I am enjoying putting my creative talents back to work, using my words to engage, inspire and entertain. (Just off stage instead!)

If you’d like to chat about copywriting, creativity, the Great British weather, or maybe even your favourite cheese, then I’d love to hear from you. My contact details are at the bottom of this page.
